When it comes to residential development in the Los Angeles area, Downtown Los Angeles has the spotlight, with skyscrapers and high-rise apartment complexes springing up from Bunker Hill to the Arts District. However, Gardena, deserves some attention as well. At the State of the City Address in March of 2019, Mayor Tasha Cerda discussed in detail some of the exciting residential community projects currently underway throughout the City of Gardena. Since 2014 Gardena has had 564 new residential units approved and either built or in construction. Since Fall 2018, another 220+ units have been proposed with various national developers such as KB Homes, Watt Communities, Melia Homes, and Olson. All of these projects are currently going through the entitlement process with expected delivery in 2020.
